Many people have been touched by cancer in some way, and Terry Fox's legacy has provided hope and a way for people to take action.
Terry Fox started his Marathon of Hope on April 12, 1980.
His journey began in St. John's, Newfoundland, with the goal of running across Canada to raise money and awareness for cancer research. He ran for 143 days, covering over 5,300 kilometers, before being forced to stop when his cancer returned. His incredible effort, however, sparked a movement that continues to this day, with the annual Terry Fox Run raising millions of dollars for cancer research every year.
Our Terry Fox Run will be on our field on Friday September 26th at 2:30pm Parents/guardians are welcome to attend. Attached is a pledge sheet for you to record your fundraising. Please return it and monies by Friday September 26th.There is also a website for online donations.
Any donations greater than $20.00 will receive a Charitable Tax Receipt for Income tax purposes.
Last year our little school collected $810.25 which is amazing.
